HoodyPack BackPack

The Happy #HoodyPack

For the basic backpack, I used Simplicity Pattern #1388 View A

I drafted the hoody using the main fabric and a piece of vintage leather I had laying around in my denim and leather stash box.

It took me 3 tries to attach the hoody because I kept putting it on backwards!!!! LOL!!! Luckily I basted it on instead of using a permanent stitch. I did not use the D-Rings because my son wanted the pack to "hang-low."

The fabric is a woven jacquard fro Jo-Ann's. I used 2 different prints. I love the black and white Aztec look of the fabric. It's apparel fabric but is heavy enough to make a backpack.

Mermaid Blanket Simplicity Pattern #8275

I wanted a mermaid blanket for a while (yes for myself). I searched the internet and found a slew of tutorials and how-to's but it was to much drafting and all that. I was just being plain lazy did not want to do all that! Finally Simplicity read my mind and came out with a pattern not only for the mermaid, but also the shark blanket. I used some anti-pill fleece I had in my fabric stash! It's a great pattern easy to follow and if you need to alter the pattern it's doable!!! I made this one for my granddaughter for Christmas......I think she'll love it.......

Alterations: None (You can do so many things with this pattern) The only thing I did not use/follow were the applique pattern pieces. You can get creative and do your own thing to personalize the blanket

I finally had a reason to use my Simplicity Bias Tape Maker!!!! 10 yards of bias tape for the hem of my granddaughters Peppermint Swirl Dress (PSD). I was NOT doing that by hand! The stores are so limited in choices that we have and I didn't want to sit around and wait for a custom order either. Soooooo I whipped my bias tape maker right on out (I actually forgot I had her). I have all of the different sized bias maker tips too! :)

I paid: $50.00 (Coupons, coupons and more coupons, VIP Discount Cards) at Hancock Fabrics Last Year. I have not seen any in Joann AT ALL!!! At one point they had them and all of the tips as well, not anymore.... :( I'm glad I got mine when I did.....

They are trending on eBay for average price of: $250.00 (These people crazy cray)!

The only place I could find with reasonable pricing is Amazon. They are no where to be found! I couldn't even find it on the simplicity.com website.
